Uphold Traditional Culture and Look Forward
Traditional culture is an essential part of society, or nation, for it is past in today. Just as is shown in the picture, traditional culture, like a huge mountain, is a mere height from which people can look forward to the future. In other words, tradition and culture are basis for us to predict and foresee the brilliant future. How exciting!
An example at hand is Beijing Opera. Though it is beautiful and attractive to most elders, this traditional opera can scarcely amaze the youngster’s interest. Why so? The operas still staged are mostly of old themes, of outdated structure, with slow rhythm and over-complicated music. Nearly everything is encoded like the ancient Chinese language. Nevertheless, if we bring to it something like feelings of modern people, the opera will continue to survive with its popularity and charm. In brief, the past glory becomes tradition culturally in people’s mind. If the national spirit of opera, among other things, progresses with time, we thus predict its bright future and even Chinese traditional greatness.
To conclude, we cannot go farther and fly higher without higher footing point --- traditional culture. If not, solid foundation would be laid off, and the source of culture would be exhausted sooner or later. Therefore, the fruitful efforts should be exerted anytime and anywhere in Chinese in Malaysia. Especially our authorities ought to endeavor to save and develop some subjects of Chinese traditional culture such as Chinese’s Opera.
